Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1+ year in networking/IT is preferred but not required.
  • Fundamentals of OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network management systems and helpdesk channels to identify and respond to issues.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networks, access, applications, and telecom problems.
  • Provide timely technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Respond to requests via phone, email, web chat, and ticketing systems.
  • Diagnose problems, explain solutions, and give step-by-step guidance to users.
  • Determine issue severity and escalate to the appropriate team as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of requests, steps taken, services provided, and status.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and senior staff.
  • Support 24/7 network operations, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

About The Role

We are seeking an Entry Level NOC Technician to join our Network Operations Center team in Herndon, VA. This position is responsible for monitoring network systems, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting customers and end users, and escalating issues when additional technical expertise is needed. What You'll Do

  • Support continuous 24/7 network operations, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience with networking, operating systems, computer hardware, software, or networking applications preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, including OSI Model, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Strong interest in network engineering, information technology, or a related technical field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, think critically, and learn new technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise ticketing or monitoring tools such as ServiceNow or SolarWinds is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work and contract requirements.
