Job summary

Serco Inc. in Chesapeake, Virginia, is hiring an Entry level Engineering Technician to support U.S. Navy vessels and shipyard facilities.

You will assemble and fabricate electromechanical and electronic assemblies, install wiring, and follow safety protocols to ensure mission-critical installations on naval ships. The role requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, a high school diploma or GED, OSHA certification, and comfort with climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and travel up to 10%

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; OSHA certification preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and access to shipyards.
Familiarity with reading drawings and wiring diagrams; willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

Install and repair wiring, fixtures, and equipment aboard ships and shipyard facilities.
Follow blueprints and wiring diagrams; install conduit to bulkheads.
Solder wires and connect power-supply circuits to radio, radar, sonar, and other equipment.
Test electrical characteristics and troubleshoot circuits using appropriate instruments.
Perform maintenance and repair of generators, switchboards, and distribution panels.
