Job summary

SGS is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician I for the Metals team at the Wheat Ridge, CO laboratory. This first shift position runs Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with overtime eligibility and the SGS Step Up program.

You will prepare samples with accuracy to SGS SOPs, perform routine instrument maintenance, maintain notebooks, and support daily production targets while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (Required)
• Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or similar scientific discipline (Preferred)
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred)
• Math skills: Basic (Required)
• Reasoning skills/abilities: Basic (Required)
• Computer skills: Basic (Required)
• Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull up to 25 lbs frequently (Required)

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS SOPs using department instruments and analytical methodologies.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Input and maintain technical information to support lab functions/operations.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
