Job summary

Sierra Space Corporation is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Technician I to assemble, test, and maintain flight hardware. You will work with engineers and technicians to ensure quality, translating blueprints into assemblies and performing precision drilling.

Emphasis on safety, PPE, and precision cleaning, with opportunities to grow in soldering, harness routing, and in-process testing. Role involves lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and working in restricted spaces while following 5S, FOD, and

Qualifications

Typically entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.
Familiarity with PPE and shop safety requirements.
Ability to perform basic equipment setup and maintenance activities and display general mechanical aptitude and hand tools/precision tools competency.
Ability to learn and perform precision cleaning.
Ability to learn 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness.
Ability to conduct basic verification/troubleshooting of own work.
Basic understanding of mechanical assemblies, soldering, harness routing, inspection, in-process testing, precision cleaning, and structural fabrication.

Responsibilities

Assemble, test, and maintain flight hardware to meet specifications and standards.
Translate blueprints into mechanical assemblies, perform precision drilling and calibration.
Inspect, assemble, integrate, and operationally check components, following shop safety and PPE rules.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to achieve production goals.
Follow 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness protocols; lift up to 50 lbs; work in restricted spaces.
