Job summary

Sierra Space Corporation in Colorado is seeking a Mechanical Technician II to assemble, test, and maintain complex mechanical systems for spaceflight hardware. You will work with engineers and senior technicians to ensure precision, quality, and safety in high-stakes environments.

The role requires 2+ years in a mechanical/manufacturing setting, ability to read drawings, perform precision cleaning, and follow 5S/ESD/FOD practices.

Qualifications

• Typically 2+ years of experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with PPE and shop safety requirements.
• Ability to perform intermediate equipment setup and maintenance and display mechanical aptitude with hand tools/precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and maintain complex mechanical systems.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings for assemblies.
• Perform precision drilling, bonding, and harness routing.
• Ensure quality and reliability of flight hardware with in-process testing and inspections.
• Follow PPE, 5S, FOD, and ESD protocols.
