Job summary

Sierra Space Corporation in Colorado is seeking a Mechanical Technician II to assemble, test, and maintain complex flight hardware and mechanical systems. You will work with engineers and senior technicians to ensure precision, safety, and conformance to specifications, translating blueprints into precise assemblies.

You will perform precision drilling, bonding, harness routing, soldering, in-process testing, and cleaning, while following 5S, FOD, and ESD practices.

Qualifications

• Typically 2+ years of experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with PPE and shop safety requirements.
• Ability to perform intermediate equipment setup and maintenance activities; mechanical aptitude and tool competency.
• Proficiency in precision cleaning.
• Knowledge of 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness.
• Ability to conduct verification/troubleshooting of own work.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and maintain complex mechanical systems and components.
• Interpret blueprints and translate into precise assemblies and structures.
• Perform precision drilling, bonding, harness routing, and inspection.
• Conduct in-process testing and precision cleaning.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to meet specs and safety standards.
• Follow PPE, 5S, FOD, and ESD protocols; lift up to 50 lbs; work in restricted spaces.
