Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking an Engineering Technician III to lead assembly, testing, and maintenance of advanced mechanical systems for flight hardware. You will translate blueprints into precise assemblies, perform precision drilling and bonding, and ensure components meet tolerances with calibrated tools.

You will mentor junior technicians, perform in-process testing, and uphold 5S, FOD, and ESD protocols in a safety-conscious shop environment. This role offers growth in a dynamic space program.

Qualifications

• Typically 5+ years in a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform advanced equipment setup and maintenance activities.
• Expertise in precision cleaning and mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead assembly, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components.
• Mentor less experienced technicians in complex assemblies and inspection.
• Inspect, assemble, integrate, and check flight hardware to specifications.
• Perform precision drilling, bonding, soldering, and harness routing as needed.
• Follow PPE, 5S, FOD, and ESD procedures and maintain shop safety.
