The Mechanical Technician I position involves assembling, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and components to meet required specifications. In this entry‑level role, you will work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure the quality and reliability of flight hardware. This position requires a basic understanding of mechanical principles, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to precision and safety.
You will assemble major structures, perform minor part‑fitting operations for spacecraft systems, translate blueprints into mechanical assemblies, and conduct precision drilling, bonding, and cleaning. You will also learn complex mechanical assemblies, soldering, harness routing, inspection, in‑process testing, and structural fabrication. Tasks include inspecting, assembling, integrating, and operationally checking flight hardware, using precision measurement tools, and adhering to best shop practices, PPE, shop safety, 5S, FOD, and ESD protocols. You may lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and work in restrictive spaces. Collaboration with team members to achieve production goals is a key part of your responsibilities.

Pay Range: $22.74 - $31.28
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
