Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to help in our Energy Solutions offices across several U.S. regions, including Illinois.

The successful candidate will assist in project development, energy calculations, and commissioning of HVAC systems, with potential to lead portions of performance contracts. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 0–3 years of experience, with opportunities to collaborate with clients and CMTA teams nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• 0-3 years of experience with an Energy Services company or a consulting/commissioning firm is preferred.
• Strong HVAC design and commissioning background is beneficial for transition to energy engineer.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and present project opportunities to potential clients
• Support project development including site visits, audits, and energy calculations
• Engineering design review of drawings and specifications
• Support the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes
• Commission installed systems to validate performance
• Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period
