Job summary

Collins Aerospace in West Des Moines, IA is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Assembler I to gain a basic understanding of deburring and air grinding while building precision parts under supervision.

The role offers on-site work, exposure to blueprints, production documentation, and safety/quality processes. You will grow skills through standard work and certification programs within 120 days.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; 2 years relevant experience acceptable in lieu.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic blueprint reading and measurement skills required.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Learn to maintain and operate deburring tools.
• Read blueprints to verify work completed.
• Complete production documentation and labor transactions.
• Adhere to EHS, Quality, and CI standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement and safety activities.
• Work under supervision and develop basic job skills.
• Operate hand tools, measuring equipment, and light machinery.
• Work overtime and nonstandard hours as needed.
