Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Carroll, IA is hiring for an entry level Mechanical Assembler I to learn deburring and air grinding and to produce precision parts under supervision.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, operating deburring tools and speed lathes, and performing daily checks while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role requires working 2nd shift with training first 2–3 months on a day shift.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read prints and understand geometric tolerances.
• Basic shop math and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate deburring and air grinding tools and operate speed lathes.
• Read blueprints to verify work.
• Operate and perform daily/weekly equipment checks.
• Participate in COPQ process and use ACE portal for improvements.
• Complete production documentation and labor transactions.
• Handle hand tools, electrical tools, and measuring equipment.
• Work under supervision and follow procedures.
