Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. The role involves reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and ensuring safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

On-the-job training is provided. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a 2-year technical degree preferred, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment test.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools and testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Follow blueprints, manuals and specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment using measurement instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and equipment.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Inspect and lubricate machinery components and replace filters.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
