Job summary

GT Technologies is seeking an Entry-Level Machinist to support the Product Development team by machining simple parts and assisting with shop activities. You will operate machining equipment, read drawings, and verify dimensions with basic measuring tools.

Under guidance from experienced staff, you will learn to deburr, inspect, and prepare parts for use while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in machining.
• Ability to follow instructions and basic shop math.
• Willingness to learn and work reliably with others.

Responsibilities

• Machine simple parts using established instructions and approved setups.
• Assist with preparing machines, tooling, and materials for machining operations.
• Read basic part drawings and follow specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Use measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers, to inspect parts.
• Deburr, clean, and prepare completed parts for use.
• Report machining problems, damaged tooling, and nonconforming parts.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures.
• Assist with routine machine maintenance and repairs under supervision.
• Unload, identify, and safely store incoming material.
• Handle parts, tooling, and materials safely to prevent injury or damage.
• Communicate job status, material needs, and equipment issues to the supervisor.
