Job summary

The City University of New York’s Lehman College IT team is seeking an IT Support Assistant (Network & Security) to help monitor and resolve security and computing issues across campus. You will work under supervision to assist senior cybersecurity staff and support routine IT operations.

You will help document incidents, maintain asset inventories, and assist in coordinating responses to security events while communicating with students and staff about cybersecurity best practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
• 18 months of related full-time IT work or 18 IT college credits.
• Demonstrated English language proficiency.
• New York driver's license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring Cortex XDR security alerts and report suspicious activity.
• Assist with reviewing Cortex Xpanse reports to identify assets and maintain inventories.
• Assist with reviewing Tenable vulnerability scans, documenting findings, and tracking remediation.
• Assist with reviewing HackNotice reports to identify exposed credentials and support remediation.
• Assist with monitoring email security systems (Proofpoint) and process phishing and spam incidents.
• Assist with processing DMCA notices by documenting requests and forwarding cases.
• Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and related records.
• Escalate cybersecurity incidents and vulnerabilities to appropriate staff.
• Communicate with faculty, staff, and students about cybersecurity issues.
• Maintain cybersecurity knowledge base and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in training activities to stay current with threats and technologies.
