Job summary

MasTec Industrial is seeking an Ironworker Helper I in Rapid City, SD. The role supports the crew in assembling structural-steel components, reading drawings, and assisting with hoisting, bolting, and welding tasks. You will participate in toolbox talks and follow safety rules on site.

Required is 6 months to 1 year related experience or training, with at least 6 months in a helper role. The position emphasizes safety, manual dexterity, and teamwork in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training
• Minimum 6 months of experience in helper role
• Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs
• Ability to read safety rules and manuals
• Ability to perform measurements and unit conversions

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret measuring tools for tasks
• Assist in hoisting equipment setup for placement of structural-steel members
• Assist in fastening/bolting/welding of steel members
• Guide members into position using tag lines and hand tools
• Support in aligning holes and ensuring safe, accurate installation
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards
