Job summary

HTU is seeking an entry-level Claims Associate to investigate, evaluate, and settle insurance claims under close supervision. You will study policies, learn procedures, and develop foundational loss-adjustment skills.

This role offers structured training, mentoring, and opportunities to work with agents, insureds, and legal counsel. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling.
• Ability to organize data, multi-task, and make decisions independently.
• Above average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write reports and compose correspondence.
• Ability to resolve complex issues and maintain confidentiality and data security.
• Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals.
• Mathematical skills including geometry (area and volume) and financial accuracy.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record consistent with Company underwriting guidelines.
• Commitment to continual product knowledge development through approved educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims under close supervision through the life-cycle of a claim.
• Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to develop foundational knowledge of Company insurance products.
• Learn and comply with Company claim handling procedures.
• Develop entry-level claim negotiation and settlement skills.
• Serve the needs of agents, insureds, and others effectively.
• Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third parties.
• Develop specialized skills such as estimating and use of designated computer-based programs for loss adjustment.
• Study, obtain, and maintain an adjuster’s license(s) if required by statute within the timeline established by the Company or legal requirements.
