Job summary
Bowman Consulting in Houston, TX is seeking a Designer I, I&C OG to provide entry‑level technical design support for instrumentation and control systems. You will assist engineers and designers in developing drawings, wiring diagrams, and related documentation using CAD software, under direct supervision.
This role emphasizes learning industry standards, company procedures, and best practices while contributing to project success through attention to detail, collaboration, and ongoing
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certificate in engineering technology, instrumentation and controls, drafting, or related field preferred.
- Entry level position with 0–2 years of instrumentation and controls CAD drafting experience a plus.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software and engineering drafting principles.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and control system drawings, schematics and design documentation preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with CAD drafting and preparation of instrumentation and controls drawings, schematics, and documentation based on established specifications and vendor information.
- Support engineers and senior designers in development, revision, and coordination of project deliverables.
- Assist with instrumentation location plans, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, panel layouts, and control system documentation.
- Learn and apply company, client, and industry standards related to instrumentation and control systems.
- Support instrumentation equipment selection activities and preparation of related documentation.
