Job summary

Bowman Consulting seeks an entry-level Designer I, Mechanical OG for our Houston, TX team. You will support engineers with CAD drawings, models, and documentation, learning design standards and collaborating across disciplines.

Ideal candidates have relevant degree and up to 2 years of CAD experience, with strong communication and a desire to grow in mechanical design within the Oil & Gas sector.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in engineering-related field preferred.
• Zero to two years of mechanical design/CAD experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD and drafting principles; ability to learn company standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with CAD drafting and preparation of drawings, models, and schematics per standards.
• Support engineers and senior designers in developing project deliverables.
• Prepare mechanical equipment and piping layouts and related documentation.
• Learn and apply drafting standards and design practices.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback; maintain BOMs and drawing packages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to ensure design alignment; perform quality checks.
