Job summary

Bowman Consulting seeks an entry-level Designer I, Electrical OG to support electrical design activities in Houston, TX. You will assist with CAD drafting, electrical drawings, schematics, and project documentation under direct supervision while building technical proficiency.

You will learn company standards, collaborate with engineers and designers, and develop skills in power distribution, grounding, lighting, and layouts needed for accurate design deliverables.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position, 0–2 years of relevant electrical design or CAD drafting experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, design documentation, and BOMs is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of power distribution, grounding, lighting, conduit, and cable routing is desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with CAD drafting and preparation of electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and related project documentation per established standards.
• Support engineers and senior designers in development, revision, and coordination of project deliverables.
• Prepare power distribution, grounding, lighting, conduit, and electrical equipment layouts.
• Learn and apply company, client, and industry standards for electrical design and Oil & Gas facility projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design consistency and project alignment.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from engineers and project teams.
