Job summary

Datavant is seeking an entry-level Release of Information (ROI) associate in Miami, FL. The role ensures timely processing of medical records requests while safeguarding patient privacy per HIPAA and company policy.

You will handle walk-ins, phone support, mail and fax requests, and create digital copies for EMR storage, using MS Office and other platforms. As part of a collaborative, onsite team, you’ll document information across multiple systems, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to codes

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to commute to onsite facility.
• Proficient with basic computer equipment.
• Strong data entry and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with policies.
• Maintain confidentiality and security with all privileged information.
• Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software.
• Adhere to conduct and policies.
• Inform manager of work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes.
• Assist with additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required.
• Ensure privacy regulations are followed to guard against unauthorized disclosure.
• Manage patient health records.
• Safeguard patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Prepare new patient charts from paper or electronic sources.
• Assemble records in standard order and ensure completeness.
• Create digital images of paperwork for EMR storage.
• Respond to requests for patient records from internal and external sources.
• Answer inbound/outbound calls.
• May assist with patient walk-ins.
• May assist with administrative duties like faxes and data entry.
• Meet productivity expectations as outlined at site.
• May schedule pickups.
• Other duties as assigned.
