Tessera is seeking a hardworking Grounds Maintenance Worker for a temporary role at facilities around Petersburg, Virginia near Fort Gregg-Adams. This entry-level position runs through November 30, 2026, with daytime hours and a focus on keeping grounds clean, safe, and attractive for our government customer.

Responsibilities include mowing, edging, trimming shrubs, planting, watering, snow removal, and basic repairs.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience.
• Work independently at a fast pace.
• Operate weed eater, blower and mower.
• Read and follow contract requirements and maps.
• Customer service oriented.
• Outdoor work in various weather.

Responsibilities

• Cut grass using walking-type or riding mowers.
• Trim hedges and edges around walkways and beds.
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape growth.
• Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
• Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
• Water lawn and shrubs during dry periods.
• Pick up leaves and litter.
• Remove snow from walkways and parking areas.
• Repair and paint fences, gates, benches and outbuildings.
• Assist with road and walkway repairs.
• Clean facilities and parking areas.
