Tessera is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker for a seasonal, temporary role at Fort Gregg-Adams area in Virginia. The position is non-exempt, full-time during the season with a day shift and compensation of $21.31 per hour.

The role involves maintaining and repairing grounds for industrial and public sites, supporting training and facilities, and potential training on equipment usage and certifications. Benefits include health/welfare, holidays, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently at a fast pace.
• Operate weed eater, blower, and/or mower regularly.
• Operate tractor and riding mowers and other equipment as needed.
• May use manual or power tools to complete tasks.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Read and understand contract requirements and maps.
• Multi-task with frequent interruptions; customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cut grass with walking-type or riding mowers.
• Trim hedges, prune shrubs, and edge around walkways.
• Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
• Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, and outbuildings.
• Assist with road, walkway, and building repairs.
• Clean and maintain buildings, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• May perform janitorial duties and basic facility cleaning.
