GEI Consultants, Inc. in Allendale, Michigan is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to lead subsurface explorations, prepare geotechnical reports, and support geostructural design and foundation projects.

The role emphasizes field oversight, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and opportunities for professional growth, including exposure to dam, ground improvement, and related projects.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited college.
• 0-5 years of geotechnical experience.
• Must have passed the FE exam.
• Experience with exploration and reporting.
• Willingness to travel for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients to schedule and perform subsurface exploration activities at various project sites.
• Coordinate, direct and oversee drilling subcontractors during the exploration.
• Perform visual engineering classifications and assign lab testing on recovered samples.
• Develop a geotechnical engineering report in support of the project design.
• Support geotechnical aspects of MSE, SOE, industrial and hydropower projects.
• Perform construction oversight on various GEI design projects.
