Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking Geotechnical Engineers to join our growing Allendale, MI office.

The role will coordinate, oversee, and manage subsurface exploration activities, develop geotechnical engineering reports, and support geotechnical design teams with related activities. Ideal candidates have 0–3 years of experience, strong written and verbal communication, and a willingness to travel for field assignments.

Qualifications

• Working toward a BS degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• 0–3 years of professional experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Willingness to travel for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients to schedule and perform subsurface exploration activities at various project sites.
• Coordinate, direct, and oversee drilling subcontractors during the exploration.
• Perform visual engineering classifications and lab testing on the recovered samples.
• Develop a geotechnical engineering report in support of the project design.
• Support geotechnical aspects of MSE, SOE, industrial, and hydropower projects.
• Perform construction oversight on GEI design projects.
• Prepare design drawings in AutoCAD with oversight from senior staff.
