Job summary

Langan is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join its Salt Lake City team. You will assist in planning and executing field investigations, logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, and helping prepare logs and reports for large projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, a minimum GPA of 3.0, and an EIT or FE prospective status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required; Master's with Geotechnical specialty is a plus.
• 0-2 years of work-related experience; GPA minimum 3.0.
• EIT Certification or FE registration preferred; strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations; logging borings and test pits; collect samples and data.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities; ensure conformance with documents; communicate issues.
• Prepare logs and field forms (drilling/test pit logs, dailies, chain of custody); conduct site reconnaissance.
• Document and relay issues to supervisor; perform other duties as requested.
