Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services seeks an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer in Melville, NY. You will join a collaborative team, planning and executing field investigations, monitoring earthwork and foundation activities, and assisting with geotechnical reports on major projects.

The role requires a Civil/Geotechnical Engineering degree, 0–2 years of experience, and an EIT or FE registration preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• 0–2 years of related experience.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• EIT Certification or FE exam registration preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities; monitor conformance with construction documents.
• Identify and implement solutions to field and laboratory problems.
• Prepare logs and forms (drilling, test pits, dailies, chain of custody).
• Conduct site reconnaissance and document searches.
• Communicate any problems to supervisor on project sites.
• Perform other duties as requested.
