Schnabel Engineering's Marquette, MI office is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Geotechnical/Mining/Civil Engineer to join our Mining team. The role focuses on developing field and analytical skills, with opportunities to contribute to geotechnical investigations and reports.

We value a motivated candidate with a passion to grow as a professional and a strong team player. Travel to project sites and out-of-state work may be required, and MSHA/HAZWOPER training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geology, geological engineering, or mining engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 0–2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently or in a team.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% and perform field work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and performing geotechnical investigations and field programs.
• Document and report geotechnical investigation results; log borings; in-situ testing; collect samples.
• Assist in field work at inactive mines; take site photos; sketch structures; observe conditions.
• Create basic GIS/AutoCAD figures and maps; support report preparation and specifications.
