Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to join our growing practice in Michigan, ideally located in the Grand Rapids and/or Lansing, MI areas. We are looking for a motivated candidate with an interest in developing both field and analytical skills, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.

Responsibilities include working on civil, geotechnical, geological, or mining projects, assisting in investigations, preparing reports, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering or equivalency.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical skill and a positive attitude.
• A willingness to perform various assignments on short notice.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• It is beneficial to be comfortable in remote settings with a can-do attitude.
• Desire to work outdoors and travel within Michigan and nationwide.
• Engineer in Training with ability to obtain PE license within 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams on civil, geotechnical, geological, or mining projects.
• Assist in planning and performing geotechnical investigations and analyses.
• Assist in preparation of reports, plans, and specifications.
• Observe and log soil borings and/or rock cores.
• Conduct field assignments, site mapping, and materials testing.
• Assist in performing analyses and design calculations.
