Job summary

North Tahoe Fire Protection District seeks an entry-level Firefighter/Paramedic to join a dedicated emergency services team. Responsibilities include firefighting, rescue, and advanced EMS, with duties such as driving ambulances, operating tools, maintaining equipment, and undergoing continuous training.

Applicants must be at least 18, possess a CA driver’s license, CPAT valid after 1/2026, California Paramedic license (or NRP) with local accreditation within 60 days, and current Health Care

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
• Cover Letter and Resume required with application.
• CPAT card current after Jan 1, 2026.
• California Paramedic license or National Registered Paramedic with CA licensure and local accreditation within 60 days.
• CPR at Health Care Provider level.
• PALS or PEPP certification current.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and provide firefighting, rescue, and EMS services as part of a team.
• Drive and operate ambulances and utility vehicles.
• Operate firefighting and rescue tools and equipment.
• Maintain physical conditioning and perform duties under emergency conditions.
• Complete probationary period and meet all district policies.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Current CPAT card after January 1, 2026

Current California State Paramedic License or National Registered Paramedic (California Licensed and local accreditation within 60 days)

Current CPR certification to the Health Care Provider level

Current PALS or PEPP certification
