Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking an entry-level Field Technician I to support inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment in transmission and distribution substations across North America. You will work under experienced technicians and engineers, performing hands-on tasks while following strict safety protocols to ensure reliability of power systems.

Qualifications

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen due to safety-sensitive position.
  • Background check required.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with entry-level testing of high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment under supervision.
  • Support inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment including breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, batteries and switches.
  • Follow procedures and test plans to ensure equipment operates safely and correctly.
  • Help troubleshoot equipment issues with guidance from experienced personnel.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and assist with component replacement.
  • Document work performed and maintain inspection/maintenance reports.
