ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician to join our Pittsburgh team. The role is primarily field-based, performing observations, sampling, and testing under supervision, with data collection and site documentation supporting project execution.

No prior experience required; we provide training and cover certification costs. You will develop foundational technical skills while upholding ECS core values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Obtain basic certifications per ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• Valid driver's license if driving for/on behalf of ECS subsidiaries.
• Strong communication, dependable, detail-oriented work ethic.
• Basic math skills and data entry ability.
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret plans (developing).
• Proficiency with electronic devices (tablets, phones, laptops).

Responsibilities

• Perform field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
• Assist with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
• Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Report changing site conditions and testing needs to supervisors.
• Assist with daily field report preparation and submission.
• Support basic calculations and data entry for testing results.
• Organize and maintain field equipment; notify supervisors of issues.
• Participate in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Perform other field and project support duties as assigned.
