Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon to support advanced semiconductor equipment. The role is on-site, permanent, with an hourly wage of $28-$43 and opportunities for training and certification.

New grads are encouraged to apply, and you’ll travel to customer sites, perform troubleshooting, hardware repairs, and preventive maintenance while gaining hands-on experience with optics, electronics, and electro-mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering; new grads welcome.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting electronics, optics, mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
• Basic knowledge of computers, operating systems and networking.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom and under pressure during equipment-down situations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Local to or willing to relocate to the Portland, OR area.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues on site, by phone or remotely, working with factory engineering teams.
• Repair and modify systems at customer fabs - board-level and system-level.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with tool installations, startups and relocations.
• Help keep customer production running, including flagging unsafe conditions.
• Write field service reports and document recurring issues.
• Use test equipment such as DVMs, oscilloscopes and flow meters.
• Complete ongoing technical training and certification.
• Spend at least 50% of your time at customer sites and in cleanroom environments.
