S&M E seeks an entry-level Construction Materials Engineering Technician to work outdoors on active construction sites in Wilmington, NC. You’ll learn concrete, soils, and asphalt testing while earning on-the-job training and pursuing certifications with ACI and ICC.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to learn and obtain certifications during training.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.
• English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing) required.
• Basic math and unit conversion skills.

Responsibilities

• Start with concrete sampling and testing, then expand to soils, asphalt, and masonry.
• Receive paid, on-the-job training and pursue certifications through ACI and ICC.
• Work outdoors year-round on active construction sites.
• Perform field and lab tests, maintain equipment, and report results.
• Conduct inspections per codes and manage data using Metafield.
