Job summary

Allan Myers, Inc is seeking an entry-level Civil/Construction engineer to support project teams in planning, scheduling, and executing heavy civil construction tasks in the mid-Atlantic region.

You will assist in interpreting plans, developing work plans, and coordinating with crews while upholding safety and quality standards. This role emphasizes learning, cost control, and incident-free operations.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related major, or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of engineering or construction experience.
• Microsoft Office proficient.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates, models and reinforces company culture and leadership practices with team members.
• Supports crew or project teams by developing work plans and schedules for production.
• Performs laborer tasks as part of a crew, including pipe, excavation, site cleanup, painting, and maintenance.
• Interprets contract plans and specifications.
• Ensures work meets specified requirements and production.
• Documents projects through diaries, photos, video, inspections, RFIs, and logs.
• Develops, reviews, and processes necessary submissions and tracks status to final approval.
• Assists in negotiation, pricing, and purchasing of parts, materials, and labor.
• Assists in managing fabrication and delivery of materials; ensures correct cost code charging and invoicing.
• Tracks quantities of work by company and subcontractors; inputs into billable quantities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports safety initiatives and Home Safe Tonight program.
• May participate on Safe Production Teams.
• May assist with Daily Written Work Plans and Hazard assessments.
