Rivet Operations Company in Washington, DC is seeking a Junior HR Specialist to provide foundational HR support in a federal environment. You will assist with classification actions for routine positions, maintain HR records, enter and retrieve data in HR systems, and help senior staff with routine staffing tasks under close supervision.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, 1–3 years of federal HR experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in federal HR classification or similar role.
• Basic knowledge of HR principles and federal regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports classification actions for routine, lower-grade positions by reviewing position descriptions and assisting in preparation of classification reports.
• Retrieving position descriptions and identifying identical/additional positions, and supporting entry-level HR coding and standard data entry tasks.
• Maintain HR files, records, and documentation in compliance with agency standards.
• Enter, update, and retrieve data in HR systems for personnel actions and reports.
• Ensure proper coding for HR actions using established guidelines.
