Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, 1–3 years of federal HR experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

The Junior HR Specialist provides foundational support in human resources operations, focusing on administrative tasks, data entry, and assisting senior HR staff with routine classification and staffing activities. This position is ideal for individuals beginning their HR career in a federal environment, applying established procedures under close supervision. Primary Duties: Supports classification actions for routine, lower-grade positions by:

• Reviewing position descriptions and organizational structures
• Retrieving position descriptions and assisting in preparation of classification reports
• Identifying identical/additional positions
• Supporting entry-level HR coding and standard data entry tasks
• Supporting desk audits under supervision
• Maintain HR files, records, and documentation in compliance with agency standards
• Enter, update, and retrieve data in HR systems for personnel actions and reports
• Ensure proper coding for HR actions using established guidelines
