Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic C to learn and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on our fleet. You will follow SOPs at branch, regional, and national levels to keep equipment in a ready state and to support safe, efficient operations.

As an entry-level mechanic, you will gain product knowledge, work with senior staff, and develop skills in diagnostics, maintenance, and reporting while contributing to fleet readiness across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Some knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems; willingness to learn how to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc-owned fleet according to branch schedules.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Enter work orders and complete part ordering via the fleet management system.
• Produce service reports and repair logs; assist in reconditioning parts.
