Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A to lead maintenance activities across the branch, ensuring equipment remains on the rental “ready line.” You will mentor junior mechanics and utilize diagnostic tools to uphold safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, hands-on repairs, and timely service reporting, with opportunities to train B and C level mechanics while supporting shop operations.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and/or air/electric tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a schedule for preventative maintenance of all Herc-owned fleet at your branch.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes Herc Rentals quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc fleet equipment and trucks independently.
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Enter and review work orders and order parts via fleet management system.
