Job summary

Halff is seeking new graduates for an entry-level Graduate Scientist I, Environmental position in our Tampa, FL office. The role involves field data collection, assisting with permit applications, and collaborating with engineers on environmental solutions to serve diverse clients.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s in biology or environmental science, with a Master’s preferred. Willingness to travel and work outdoors under varying conditions is important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, natural resources management or related field.
• Experience collecting flora and fauna data for natural resource reports.
• Strong collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field work to collect samples and conduct field surveys.
• Assist with permit applications and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers on environmental solutions.
• Provide support to multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects.
• Proficient with ArcPro and GPS technologies for data collection.
• Contribute to delineations, impact analyses and permitting efforts.
• Assist with threatened and endangered species surveys and relocations.
• Travel and possibly stay away from town for up to two weeks.
• Work outdoors, maintain safety, and handle equipment up to 40 pounds.
