Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an entry-level Engineer to connect CMMI and Capital Projects on the Naval Examination Acquisition Project (NEAP) and other early-stage recapitalization efforts. The Engineer ensures design requirements translate into safe, reliable facility and examination systems to meet sponsor needs.

You will provide input on facility requirements, plan examination capabilities, coordinate testing, and collaborate with Capital Projects, NEAP Lead Engineers, and external

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field (or Master's).
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Ability to integrate diverse needs and reach consensus on technical and administrative topics.
  • Experience in applying project management principles.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input to NEAP decisions, including facility and examination system requirements.
  • Plan and champion unique examination capabilities to support tests.
  • Coordinate examination system testing and facility startup.
  • Interface with Capital Projects and stakeholders for NEAP execution.
  • Collaborate with NEAP Lead Engineers to represent the sponsor community.
  • Engage early to shape facility and system characteristics for safe operations.
  • Travel occasionally to other NNL sites and external partners.
