Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an associate engineer to develop engineering solutions for interim irradiations preconceptual and conceptual designs. You will work to mature options for the NEAP/IIER programs and deliver milestones with collaboration from Naval Reactors, Architects/Engineers, and senior leaders.

This position offers broad exposure to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, opportunities to influence design decisions, and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field.

Responsibilities

• Produce integrated and value-based solutions for complex, multi-faceted problems considering project constraints, customer priorities, and stakeholder inputs.
• Provide technical design support and collaborate with the Architect/Engineer to ensure design solutions are cost effective, meet project requirements, and support the mission need.
• Engage with stakeholders, Naval Reactors, and senior leadership.
• Deliver supporting deliverables to IIER major milestones.
