Job summary

UL Solutions in the United States is seeking a recent graduate Electrical or Mechanical Engineer for an entry-level role in Brea, California. The position offers a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office and growth opportunities in testing, certification and client interaction.

You will analyze project scope, coordinate laboratory activities, and communicate UL requirements to clients while developing test plans and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate welcome
• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Exposure to HVAC systems, power tools/drills, gardening tools, permanent fans, dual/micro water heaters or similar products is a plus
• Basic understanding of product testing, evaluation, or certification processes preferred

Responsibilities

• Defines project scope and preliminary investigation plan, setting cost, time, and sample requirements
• Travel to client sites for testing and communicate benefits of services
• Coordinate laboratory activities and schedule technicians
• Explain UL requirements to clients and discuss project costs and timelines
• Prepare reports and follow-up service procedures
• Ensure compliance with UL standards and company procedures
• Assist in developing test methods and equipment and review files and manufacturer information
• Represent UL at industry events as needed
