Job summary

Pearce Services seeks an entry-level UPS field service technician in the Dallas–Fort Worth region. You will receive formal training and mentorship while working on UPS, battery and DC power systems, with no prior UPS field experience required.

You will assist with maintenance, fault finding, and installations, using meters and diagnostic tools, and you will document findings for customers and dispatchers.

Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of electronics, electrical systems, AC/DC theory, or related troubleshooting background.
  • Ability to read or learn electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
  • Practical experience with hand tools and electronic test equipment including a digital multimeter.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, safety-first mindset.
  • Dependability and willingness to keep learning as equipment evolves.

  • Assist experienced technicians with preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals and docs to track faults.
  • Support installation, commissioning and replacement of UPS and related gear.
  • Document readings, service reports and communicate findings to team and customers.

Job description

Role overview

Start a long-term field service career servicing the uninterruptible power supply, battery, DC power, and distribution equipment that keeps data centers, telecom hubs, hospitals, and other mission-critical sites running. This entry-level role in the Dallas-Fort Worth region pairs formal training with on-the-job mentorship from senior technicians, with no prior UPS field experience required.

Responsibilities
  • Complete company-provided classroom, safety, and hands-on equipment training as part of onboarding.
  • Assist experienced technicians with preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, and inverters.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer documentation to track down electrical and electronic faults.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and replacement of UPS systems, batteries, and battery monitoring equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections, record equipment readings, document service reports, and communicate findings to senior technicians, dispatchers, and customers.
  • Use multimeters, battery analyzers, and other diagnostic tools safely and correctly while following OSHA, NFPA 70E, and customer site safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Foundational understanding of electronics, electrical systems, AC/DC theory, mechanical systems, or electronic troubleshooting from technical or career school, community college, an apprenticeship or certificate program, military technical training, or hands-on laboratory or field experience.
  • Ability to read or willingness to learn electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
  • Practical experience with hand tools and electronic test equipment, including a digital multimeter.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.
  • Dependability, professional accountability, and willingness to keep learning as equipment and customer needs change.
