Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking a UPS Electrical Technician III to install, maintain, and repair UPS and related battery systems in Utah. You will lead projects, mentor junior technicians, and coordinate with contractors and clients to keep installations on schedule and within budget.

You will diagnose and repair UPS systems, perform startups and preventive maintenance, and supervise field teams on diverse sites. Strong communication and safety leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience servicing UPS systems.
• Electrical and mechanical experience with UPS systems; familiarity with OEMs (Eaton, Mitsubishi, Schneider, APC, GE, Emerson).
• Knowledge of AC/DC theory and electronic components.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools (digital multimeters, amp clamps, phase rotation meters, power quality analyzers, IR cameras, oscilloscopes).
• Understanding of series/parallel connections; torque values and visual inspection.
• Travel up to 50% (expenses covered).
• U.S. citizenship required.
• OSHA 30-hour certification; NFPA-70E Safety Training; Thermography Level 2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Perform startups, certifications, preventive maintenance, and scheduled maintenance on UPS and battery systems.
• Lead UPS replacements and new installations, ensuring minimal disruption to customers.
• Diagnose and repair UPS systems, including emergency repairs, without supervision.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, start up, and commission UPS systems and related equipment.
• Supervise and guide teams on job sites, promoting safety and productivity.
• Communicate with general contractors, subcontractors, partners, and clients to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Operate UPS, battery systems, PDUs, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers.
• Assess manpower and material requirements for maintenance and installation services.
• Estimate consumables and connectivity parts needed for project completion.
• Monitor crew productivity and safety; maintain a safe and effective work environment.
• Mentor less experienced technicians and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience servicing UPS systems.
• Electrical and mechanical experience with UPS systems, DC systems, and familiarity with OEMs such as Eaton, Mitsubishi, Schneider, APC, GE, and Emerson.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such such as digital multimeters, amp clamps, phase rotation meters, power quality analyzers, IR cameras, and oscilloscopes.
• Understanding of series, parallel, and series-parallel connections.
• Knowledge of torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of installations.
• Ability to operate phase rotation meters and power quality analyzers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• NFPA-70E Safety Training.
• Thermography Level 2 or higher certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50% (expenses covered).
• U.S. citizenship required.
