Job summary

Verto People, Ltd. is seeking an experienced UPS Technician in Seattle to service UPS systems, battery plants and related critical power infrastructure. The role involves preventative maintenance, diagnostics, installations and rapid response on mission-critical electrical systems.

You will troubleshoot electrical faults, read schematics, and work with diagnostic tools while ensuring safety and professional service for clients in the assigned territory. Per diem is provided for qualifying travel.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems and related power infrastructure.
  • Experience with major manufacturers (Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical theory and power distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting and repairs on UPS systems and related power equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics, test equipment and manufacturer documentation.
  • Install, commission and replace UPS systems and battery infrastructure.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and restore customer systems while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Carry out battery testing, capacity testing and lifecycle replacement services.
  • Complete service reports and customer communications accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E and site safety procedures.

UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician

$40 - $60 per hour

A UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician is required for a critical power service role supporting UPS systems, battery solutions and mission-critical electrical infrastructure across an assigned service territory. This role is suited to an experienced technician with hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing UPS and related power systems.

The UPS Technician will work on a range of critical power equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnostics, installations and emergency response activities while delivering safe and professional service to customers.

UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician Benefits:

The UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician Role:
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters and related critical power equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics, test equipment, manufacturer documentation and technical knowledge.
  • Install, commission and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment and associated power infrastructure.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and restore customer systems while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Carry out battery testing, capacity testing, failure analysis and lifecycle replacement services.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance documentation and customer communications accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician / Field Service Technician Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data centre infrastructure or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting critical power platforms from manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB or comparable equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems and battery technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment including multimeters, power quality analysers, battery testing equipment and related tools.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system faults.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the assigned service territory, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and high-quality workmanship.
