Job summary

Actalent in Winona, MN seeks an entry level Electrical Engineer to join our manufacturing team. You will help test and debug assemblies, read schematics, and work with Test Engineers and leadership to improve processes.

The role focuses on soldering, PCB testing, and using oscilloscopes, with a pathway from training to independent testing. This is an on-site, contract-to-hire position in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in soldering and assembly of electrical components.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Experience with PCB testing and design.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes and test equipment.
• Minimum 1 year experience soldering on PCBs.
• Minimum 1 year experience testing PCBs.
• AAS or BSEE degree or equivalent technical education.

Responsibilities

• Perform debugging and testing of assemblies to the component level using block diagrams and schematics.
• Maintain and upkeep testing equipment.
• Troubleshoot operator issues, collaborate with leadership on training, and recommend process improvements.
• Provide training and ongoing support to Test operators.
• Communicate issues to Test Engineers or leadership.
• Assist in conducting experiments for failure analysis and root cause analysis.
• Recommend additional equipment needs for product debug areas to leadership or Test Engineers.
• Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen continuous improvement activities.
• Comply with all company security policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Work on problems of limited scope by following standard practices and procedures, building stable internal relationships.
• Learn and apply professional concepts, company policies, and procedures to resolve routine issues.
• Receive detailed instructions on all work.
