Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design and develop embedded hardware for customer programs across multiple industries. You will create schematics, support PCB layout, and guide component selection while collaborating with firmware engineers to define interfaces for integration.

The role involves board bring-up, debugging, validation, and root-cause troubleshooting, plus participation in requirements discussions and design reviews. It is based in Avon, OH with onsite duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 3+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Experience developing embedded electronics and PCB-based systems.
• Strong digital and analog circuit fundamentals.
• Experience with Altium Designer.
• Schematic capture and layout review.
• Lab debugging with oscilloscopes and bench equipment.
• Ability to work across hardware, firmware, and test groups.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded hardware for customer programs across industries.
• Create schematics and support PCB layout; guide component selection.
• Collaborate on multilayer board development and designs.
• Work with firmware teams to define interfaces and enable integration.
• Board bring-up, debugging, validation, and root-cause troubleshooting.
• Contribute to requirements discussions and technical design reviews.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design iteration.
• Participate in customer-facing technical discussions when appropriate.
