Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group, a Leidos company, is seeking a Design Engineer I to join our Electric Distribution Design team serving major Northeast utility clients. You will participate in planning, design, and execution of distribution projects under experienced mentors.

You will gain hands-on experience, work with project managers and senior engineers, and develop technical expertise in utility design standards within a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Electrical engineering preferred).
• Internship, co-op, or professional experience supporting electric utilities, power delivery, distribution design, or related infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn electric utility design principles; proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for electric distribution systems.
• Develop construction work packages and supporting design documentation.
• Utilize design software and GIS-based tools to create and maintain utility designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, designers, and utility clients to support project delivery.
• Assist with field data collection and verification activities as needed.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Participate in client meetings and gain exposure to utility standards and engineering practices.
• Learn and apply utility design standards, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced consulting environment.
