Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group, a Leidos company, is seeking an entry-level Electric Distribution Design Technician to join our Charlotte area team. This role blends fieldwork with design support for overhead and underground MV projects, requiring data collection, inspections, and coordination with line crews.

Responsibilities include creating construction packages, BOMs, and using Katapult and MS Office, with travel to nearby permits.

Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in electrical distribution design or a related technical field.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect utility infrastructure, collect field data, and support design of overhead and underground MV projects.
• Prepare construction work packages and BOMs following client requirements and regulatory processes.
• Use Katapult and MS Office to support overhead utility work and joint-use applications.
• Assess permitting, environmental, and ROW documentation needs.
• Perform GIS-based spatial analysis to evaluate locations and constructability impacts.
• Support engineering calculations including pole loading and voltage drop.
• Coordinate with line crews during pre-construction activities.
• Meet production targets, e.g., fielding approximately 40 poles per day.
