Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Design Engineer I to join the Electric Distribution Design team working on utility infrastructure across the Northeast. This entry-to-early‑career role offers hands-on design experience and mentorship.

You'll prepare designs, drawings, and calculations for distribution systems, collaborate with project managers and clients, and gain exposure to GIS tools, AutoCAD, and utility design standards. Limited field work may be required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or considered; Electrical Eng preferred.
• Internship, co-op, or professional experience with electric utilities or distribution design.
• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn electric utility design principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for electric distribution systems.
• Develop construction work packages and supporting design documentation.
• Utilize design software and GIS-based tools to create and maintain utility designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, designers, and utility clients to support project delivery.
• Assist with field data collection and verification activities as needed.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Participate in client meetings and gain exposure to utility standards and engineering practices.
• Learn and apply utility design standards, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced consulting environment.
